The Biconical Antenna
The biconical antenna is simple, yet has remarkable characteristics. It has the radiation pattern of a dipole, yet has a flat response over a wide range of frequencies. That makes it an antenna of choice for measurment of electromagnetic interference (EMI) and electromagnetic compatibility (EMC). It can be modeled using simple and inexpensive software tools.
